Issue No. 2 (33) of "The Art of Eurasia" Journal is dedicated to the examination of artistic traditions and innovations. The main section of the issue, entitled "Forum," is devoted to this topic, while other articles and sections address it to varying degrees. The issue includes studies of the mosaics of the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem, an examination of the formal, stylistic and iconographic peculiarities of the Lucchese school of painting, and an analysis of the formation of the regional tradition of the design of bestiaries in the diocese of Passau. The works address the issue of architectural differentiation of French Gothic monuments from the 16th to 17th centuries; the evolution of the still life genre in traditional Chinese ink painting, specifically the Gohua style from 1910 to 1950; the regional characteristics of new materiality painting in Berlin; and the philosophical and ideological notion of the "spirit of time" and its reflection in art.
The section entitled "Art of the 20th–21st centuries" comprises studies of Russian, Mongolian, Chinese and Iraqi artists. The section entitled "In storerooms and expositions of museums and art galleries" contains a study of the painting "Dutch Landscape", which is held in the museum-reserve "Dmitrovsky Kremlin". This study reveals a clear and deep affinity to the works of Abraham Begain.
