Abstract
The article is devoted to the exhibition War and Peace in the Work of Contemporary Russian Artists, organised by the Regional Department of the Russian Academy of Arts in the Urals, Siberia and the Far East to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. The study examined 200 paintings, graphic works and sculptures by contemporary artists. The article highlights the most significant pieces included in the exhibition and examines the main trends in contemporary art related to the theme of the Great Patriotic War and the Victory. It is noted that artists from Siberia are exploring new aspects of this theme. As the events of the war gradually fade into history, artists are using their works to reveal documentary, historical, metaphorical, and philosophical perspectives on the war. Through formal-stylistic and iconological analysis, the article unveils the distinctive features of Siberian art and justifies the themes of war and victory as cultural constants — stable symbols that define both the culture itself and its values.
