Abstract
Currently, monumental and decorative art is going through hard times. In Russia, the rise in the formation of the spiritual and aesthetic beginning of the living environment in the 1960-1970s was accompanied by the rise of monumental painting, an active synthesis of the arts of the spatial environment. Over time, the participation of the artist has ceased to be a mandatory requirement when creating an architectural structure. The article discusses the experience of creativity of modern monumental artists in an attempt to answer the question whether they are in demand today.
