Abstract

The paper intends to focus at the art and aesthetics of mountain communities, which are the expressions of their individuality. In the paper, an effort has been made to deliberate upon some lesser-known art forms of Himachal Himalay. Although, the rural communities to meet their day-today requirements have used these extensively, but they are regarded more as utilities of daily use then the artifacts. In order to preserve their use and traditions linked with their creation, it is important that these must be considered as artifacts.
