Abstract
The article considers the development process and the current state of arts and crafts in the Altai region – Altai Kray and Republic of Altai both. It gives characteristics of regional programs aimed at preserving and developing the cultural heritage of the region, including arts and crafts and also shows the main tendencies in the formation of the style of crafts and their role in creating a regional brand of the Altai on the example of the development of the Kolyvan stone-cutting craft, wood carving workshop «Kezer» and ceramic folk art «Turina Gora».
