This is the first issue of the scientific journal “The Art of Eurasia” — an electronic periodical, which is published under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Arts and brings together scientists and artists not only from Siberia, the Urals, the Far East, but the entire Eurasian region.
The journal aims to unite Russian and foreign scientists and artists, representatives of various fields of Humanities and various types of visual arts in one search space.
The section “Eurasian Heritage” contains art studies of the petroglyphic complex in Mongolia, pictorial miniatures of the Pahari school in India, analysis of the images of two Buddhist deities, especially revered in Mongolia — Green Tara and Baldan Lhamo.
The heading “Art of the XX—XXI centuries” presents the creative heritage of Alexei Borisov, one of the leading artists of Altai, who played an important role in the formation and development of professional art in the Altai region. An article dedicated to the romantics of “Severe style” — Dasha-Nima Dugarov and Afanasy Osipov is also published here. Also an interesting study of the work of the Siberian sculptor Georgy Lavrov — a bright and unique phenomenon not only for the art of Siberia, but also for Russia, and in France, Lavrov became one of the few Russian sculptors — recognized masters of Art Deco.
In the “Studio” section, the floor is given to the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the USSR, hero of socialist labor, laureate of State Prizes Zurab Tsereteli. This is the master's reflection on the nature of art, its purpose and role in the life of the artist.
The creativity of the first professional artist of Altai Grigory Choros-Gurkin, the main works of painting and graphics, unique ethnographic drawings from the collection of the State Art Museum of Altai Krai are presented in the heading “In storerooms and expositions of museums and art galleries.”
Under the heading “Vernissage” read the reviews of exhibitions: Yuri Kapustin — to the 80th anniversary of the master; exhibition project “Song of Songs” in the Kemerovo Regional Museum of Fine Arts; the “Siberian Neo-Aarchaic” International Art Project; the group exhibition of painters of the Far East — Alexander Tkachenko, Vladimir Listrovy, Yevgeny Zverev, Vladimir Serov, Alexey Avdeev and Vitaly Lakhansky, that was held in the regional department of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Academy of Arts; and the exposition “Watercolor. Traditions and Modernity.”
