On the problems of art

Abstract

In this article, K.D. Kavelin acted as an amateur art critic, partly a social philosopher, trying to take a detached look at the main trends of contemporary art. The result is quite impressive. Although one can argue with some of his opinions, on the whole the article turned out to be bright, lively, extraordinary and, most importantly, very much in tune with today's problems of art.
