Abstract
The article is devoted to the history of the study and collecting of the national folk graphics (popular print). The collecting and educational activities of the researcher of ancient Russian art and folk engraving by D.A. Rovinsky and the well-known publisher of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries I.D. Sytin are considered here. Organizational work of the founder of modern popular prints, artist Victor Penzin in the creation of the Museum of Folk Graphics and Workshop of Folk Graphics «Soviet Splint» is studied.
