Abstract
This article discusses the works of toreutics created by masters of the Golden Horde during the second half of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. Its main purpose is to showcase the exceptional skill and craftsmanship of these Golden Horde metalworkers. Through an art historical analysis of the ornamentation on bronze vessels and mirrors, the authors concludes that the artistic culture of the Golden Horde was syncretic, uniting various national traditions and creative practices within the framework of imperial culture. This is evident in the skilful combination of ornamental motifs of different natures, resulting in aesthetically expressive combinations of geometric patterns and realistic pictorial motifs representing real and fantastical animals. The study of surviving works of toreutics reveals the high technical level and rich artistic imagination of Golden Horde masters, whose influence extended across Eurasia.
