Abstract

The article examines the architectural imagery of Orthodox churches in 21st-century Pavlodar as a reflection of the synthesis between traditional elements of Russian architecture and contemporary trends in religious construction. Key aspects of architectural design are explored, including proportional harmony, compositional integrity, the use of canonical forms, and modern structural solutions. The study highlights issues related to the symbolism of sacred spaces, the role of light and decorative elements, as well as their integration into the urban landscape. Based on an analysis of the architectural designs of the Annunciation Cathedral and the St. Michael the Archangel Cathedral, the article identifies the distinctive features of adapting Orthodox architecture to the conditions of the modern urban environment. It concludes with an assessment of these churches as exemplars of the continuity of Russian Orthodox architectural traditions and their interaction with the cultural and historical context of Pavlodar.
