Abstract

The article examines the work of artist Vladimir Ivanovich Pereyaslavets, with a particular focus on his contributions to the visual arts dedicated to Cuba. This artist affiliated with the M. Grekov State Studio of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture, participated in the Great Patriotic War and subsequently undertook frequent visits to military units, border outposts, and the navy. During these visits, he created a substantial body of work, including numerous portraits of military pilots, sailors, soldiers, and border guards. The artist undertook numerous creative trips to locations across the globe. During his time in Cuba, he produced a series of works inspired by the country. The purpose of this article is to analyse a series of works created by the artist during a creative trip to Cuba. The objective of this study is to provide a concise overview of the creative and biographical trajectory of V.I. Pereyaslavets, to examine the primary themes and motifs present in his oeuvre, and to analyse the most significant works of the artist on the Cuban theme, employing the iconographic method. The present study is significant and innovative in that it addresses a gap in the existing scholarship on the artist V.I. Pereyaslavets. There is a paucity of comprehensive studies that examine his oeuvre in its entirety, particularly with regard to his creative journeys to Cuba.
