The Art of the Soviet Urals: artistic embodiment and debunking of social myths

Abstract

The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference " The Art of the Soviet Urals: artistic embodiment and debunking of social myths" was held on October 14–15, 2021 at the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts as part of the celebration of its 85th anniversary. It was organized jointly with the Regional Branch of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Academy of Arts. The focus of the conference participants was the process of formation, visualization and destruction in the visual and decorative arts of widespread social utopias and aesthetic mythologies on the theme of the Soviet Urals, which determined the themes and style of works of art in the 1920s – early 1990s.
