Abstract
The article is devoted to the activities of the Graphics conservation Department the Grabar art conservation center in the context of actual problems preserving the heritage of graphic arts und documents. The main directions of work on the restoration, research and identification of works from collections of museums, as well as prospects for development are described. It is told about the unique realized projects of the last years: research, conservation and restoration of historical documents from the collection of the I.A. Goncharov Ulyanovsk Regional Museum; restoration of paired globes from the collection of the Vologda State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum; restoration of works of oriental painting – a collection of icons-tangka from the collection of «Buddhist icon» of the N.N. Palmova National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia; restoration of works by contemporary artists; the project with the Center for Underwater Research of the Russian Geographical Society «Three centuries underwater. Salvation, research and restoration of the sunken Bible».
