Abstract

Indonesian textile is an inexhaustible subject. In addition to fabrics for clothing and household items Indonesians do paintings on cotton and silk. Batik – handmade fabrics, which are woven patterns of thirteen thousand Islands of the amazing country of Indonesia.The unique collection of batiks, which began more than 10 years ago, was repeatedly demonstrated at exhibitions in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Artem, became the basis of a permanent art project «Indonesia is my love» in the gallery of modern art «Metamorphosis» in Komsomolsk-on-Amur with lectures and video conversations. This project is dedicated to the unique ethnic art of the inhabitants of the Indonesian Islands.
