Abstract
The article deals with the history of the origin, the stages of development of home-based, commercial and industrial production of carpets in the area of the Urals. The regional artistic and stylistic originality and technological features of the Ural-Siberian carpet weaving are revealed here. Description of carpets is supplemented with photographs. The problems and difficulties of the factory period of carpet production are also identified.
