Abstract

The article is devoted to the traditions of depicting stupas in tank painting. This is a fragment of the book "Ikh Mongolian Suvraga: Onol Hiigeed Buteeh Yos" [Great Mongolian Stupas: Theory and Traditions of Creation. Ulan Bator, 2005, pp. 361-368 (In Mongolian)], translated from the Mongolian by S.М. Belokurova. Lama Ganhuugiin Purevbat is an icon painter, religious figure of modern Mongolian Buddhism, author of fundamental works on Buddhist art, founder and abbot of the monastery Ulziy badruulagch hiyd.
