Abstract
The article presents the work of artist and educator Rosa Gamburskaya, who was active in Moldova between 1960 and 1990 and subsequently in Israel. The author of the article employs a number of paintings and photographs of canvases held in private collections to evaluate the creative evolution of R. Gamburskaya and to identify the distinctive characteristics of her painting style. These include the absence of intentional stylisation of forms, the specificity of the colour range, and a certain influence of folk art. Accordingly, the main purpose of the article is to introduce Rosa Gamburskaya's works into a broad art history and to analyse the artist's works in the course of her creative evolution. In addition, the article elucidates various aspects of her pedagogical activities. The methodological approach employed is historical-biographical and symbolic-cultural.
