Abstract
The article is devoted to the artistic life of Sverdlovsk after the Great Patriotic war. Information that was not previously the subject of special consideration is published. New archival documents, reproduction photographs of works of art (paintings, sculptures) and materials of art criticism related to the activities of the Sverdlovsk branch of the USSR Art Fund and the Sverdlovsk branch of the Union of Soviet artists are used and introduced into scientific circulation. Thanks to them, as well as an analysis of the decisions of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks in the field of Soviet cultural policy in 1946–1952, the article reconstructs and describes the artistic life in Sverdlovsk after the war.
