Abstract

The exhibition on the centenary of the oldest restoration institution in Russia – the Grabar Art Conservation Center were restored in different years in the workshops of Moscow, Vologda, Arkhangelsk and Kostroma. The exhibition demonstrated the work of specialists from all departments of the Center: restoration workshops, laboratories, department of scientific artworks examination, etc. Exhibited works of art from 13th to 20th centuries – icons, painting and graphics, furniture and porcelain, works made of bone and stone – all this has become the subject of restoration and scientific research of the Center. The latest technology in the exhibition, a multimedia guide with the function of augmented reality, demonstrates to the audience the whole complex of works, clarifying the subtleties of the work of specialists.
