"The Art of Eurasia" is an international peer-reviewed open access scientific journal devoted to the theory and history of fine and decorative-applied art, design, and architecture.
The editorial board of the journal strives, on the one hand, to publish in-depth studies of artistic processes in their historical retrospective, and, on the other hand, to acquaint readers with contemporary topical issues of fine arts, design, and architecture. The published materials adopt a dual approach, encompassing both local studies (focused on the examination of artistic works and trends within individual countries) and comparativistic perspectives (centred on the analysis of analogies and connections between diverse Eurasian cultures). Cross-cultural studies are of particular importance, focusing on the comparison of Russian art with Eurasian and world cultural heritage across a broad chronological range. A multicultural approach is encouraged in scientific research to present Eurasian art as a complex process of interaction between all types of local schools and trends in the development of fine arts, while simultaneously identifying their specific characteristics.

The journal is included in the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and editions, in which the main scientific results of the thesis for the degree of Doctor of Sciences and PhD should be published.

Article submission terms: until February 15 (for the issue 1), until May 15 (for the issue 2), until August 15 (for the issue 3) and until November 15 (for the issue 4) annually. It is possible to prolong the topics for several issues of the journal. The editorial accepts articles prepared in accordance with the requirements of the journal.
Journal Structure: Headings
Primary is the section of research articles, which includes five headings:
The heading “Eurasian Heritage” is devoted to the origins — the archaic art of Eurasia, as well as arts and crafts and folk art. The focus of research is on images, motives, values reflected in the artworks of different eras and cultures and united by the Eurasian world view.
The “Forum” heading contains research on a topic previously proposed by the editorial of the journal. The list of topics is posted at the beginning of the calendar year on the journal website.
Art criticism articles about the work of contemporary artists, art associations, trends in art are grouped under the heading “Art of the 20th — 21st centuries”.
One of the important tasks of the journal is to show the artistic treasures of museums, and, first of all, the wealth of regional collections that has not been discovered and studied. The heading “In storerooms and expositions of museums and art galleries” includes analytical reviews and scientific articles about the collections of museums and about their particular works.
The heading “Philosophy and Theory of Art” is devoted to the actual ideas and concepts, questions of theoretical comprehension of works of fine art and architecture. The essay form of the article is allowed in this section.
All studies published in the section entitled “Theory and Philosophy of Culture” should be based on the fine arts, which are regarded as the most important aspect of culture. They should also include relevant examples and address the following questions:
- The analysis of the culture of different epochs, including the culture of antiquity, medieval culture, the culture of the Renaissance, the culture of classicism, the culture of the Enlightenment, the culture of romanticism, etc.
- The examination of the worldview and mental aspects of the theory of culture.
- An investigation of the historical continuity in the preservation and transmission of cultural values and meanings.
- A study of the synthesis of arts and synaesthesia as cultural problems.
- An analysis of the relationship between culture and ethnos, culture and nation, ethnic and national culture.
- An exploration of myth in the system of culture.
The heading “Vernissage” plays an important role in covering the exhibition life of the regions. It contains analytical reviews of exhibitions and art projects, specialized competitions and art forums.
The section “Dictionary of Buddhist Iconography by Lokesh Chandra” publishes individual articles of the fundamental work in 15 volumes of the outstanding Indian scientist, academician L. Chandra. The dictionary combines material from twenty centuries from all countries and regions covered by Buddhist influence. The pages of this work describe and illustrate 12,000 major and minor deities, their main symbols, details, attributes, and image variants. Scholars around the world use the dictionary's materials for attribution and interpretation of Buddhist art monuments. Translation and publication of articles in Russian is carried out with the permission of the author.
