From February 1 to March 2, 2022, the National Museum of the Ust-Orda Buryat District is hosting an exhibition of five Buryat artists Vladislav Urbakhanov, Ekaterina Asalkhanova, Alexander Imedeev, Pavel Mikhailov and Yuri Ermolaev "The Land of Ancestors that Gives Inspiration".
Shamanic roots, traditions of Buddhist art, features of the Russian (European) school, as well as a kind of synthesis of the traditions of Buryat and European art are traced in the origins of the artists' creativity and in the motives of some works. Artists work in various types and genres, use traditional and modern art materials, combine techniques of European and Eastern schools of fine art. In general, the exhibition demonstrates that artists turn to traditional images, sacred symbols, plots, rethinking and embodying them in their own way. Thus, the cultural heritage of the Buryat people continues to live and develop.
