Conference “From the history of collecting: patrons, collectors, Museum founders”

The Russian Academy of Arts and Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts invite art critics and art historians to take part in the scientific conference “From the history of collecting: patrons, collectors, founders of museums” on October 21–23, 2020.

The conference was initiated and organized by the Department of foreign art, Department of art studies and art criticism. Venue: White hall of the Russian Academy of arts (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow).

The conference will discuss the following issues: images and activities of foreign and domestic patrons and collectors; collection of works of art by Russian merchants; personalities of Museum founders; educational role of art workshop organizers and publishers.
