The Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts and the Department of Art History and Art Criticism of the Russian Academy of Arts invite you to take part in the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "In the Space of Vladimir Stasov" on 10–12 April 2024, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Stasov (1824–1906) — a unique artistic personality.

The conference took place on 10–12 April 2024 at 11.00 am in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts (Moscow, 21 Prechistenka St.).

A collective monograph will be published on the materials of the conference.
The extent of Vladimir Vasilyevich Stasov's influence on the study and critical understanding of various areas of Russian art, in their organic unity and creative relationships with the global artistic process, has not been fully explored or appreciated.
Stasov, who was an art and music critic, art and literature historian, bibliographer, archivist, and cultural activist, left behind a significant creative legacy. Vladimir Stasov is a prominent figure in cultural memory.
His vast sphere of influence in Russian artistic life during the second half of the 19th century makes him a suitable subject for interdisciplinary scientific and practical conferences. We invite art historians, musicologists, literary critics, theatre critics, cultural studies scholars, art theorists, undergraduates, and graduate students of creative universities, as well as anyone interested in the personality and work of V.V. Stasov to participate.
