Abstract

Researchers involved in contemporary Russian art and artists themselves have repeatedly noted the decline in the quality of interregional exhibitions in recent years. The author of the article, using an empirical quantitative method, analysed the rotation of artists of the Far East who took part in the 12th and 13th Regional exhibitions “Far East”, and identified the specific preferences in the art of masters from different territories. Methods of observation, comparison, analysis of exhibitions, catalogs of zonal/regional exhibitions of different years allowed the author to draw conclusions about some of the reasons for the organizational order, ultimately leading to a decrease in the quality of exhibitions, which for about sixty years have been the main criterion for the state of fine art in the regions of the country.
