Abstract

The history of design and construction of high-rise buildings in Moscow in the 1940s–1950s is a real Pandora's box for art historians and for the general public. Despite the fact that the ensemble of high-rise buildings forms the face of Moscow for more than half a century, answers to many questions about the history of their creation have not yet been found. For example, there is still no exact list of names of those who worked on the sculptural and decorative design of high-rise buildings. An interview with the sculptor N.B. Nikoghosyan, one of the authors of the plastic decoration of the high-rise building on Kudrinskaya Square, sheds light on the process of designing and decorating the Moscow high-rise buildings ensemble.
