Abstract
The article presents an analytical overview of the formation of avant-garde art in Sakhalin Oblast in the 21st century, commencing with the early works of post-Soviet artists and concluding with an examination of contemporary trends. This allows tracing the evolution of Sakhalin art after the USSR, seeing how it has changed over the decades, getting acquainted with the personalities and to appreciate the contribution of each artist. The novelty of this research lies in the comprehensive analysis and illumination of the distinctive phenomenon of avant-garde art in Sakhalin in the 21st century. The objective is to trace the evolution of the Sakhalin avant-garde from the post-Soviet period to the present day, as well as identify a number of trends in the development of art on Sakhalin. The research was conducted using the iconographic method and formal and stylistic analysis.
