On preserving artistic traditions

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of preserving artistic traditions, and aesthetic approciation by Charles Baudelaire and Eugène Delacroix conceptions “national tradition” and “eclecticizm” in sphere of fine arts and architecture. In years of government of Napoleon III (1852–1870) this subject was the centre of attention by artists, critics, authors, was vital question in the development of Art in century of historicism.
