Abstract

The article provides an overview of the exhibition "Huns. Empire of the Steppes" at  the  National Museum of the Republic of Buryatia, Ulan-Ude. Hun culture is one of the most significant among the ancient cultures of the region and is of interest not only to specialists, but also to the widest audience. The exposition is based on a concept developed by the author that reflects the main phenomenon of the Hunnic empire – the synthesis of the nomadic and sedentary population. In total, the exhibition presents more than 300 unique items from three leading republican museums – the National Museum of the Republic of Buryatia, the Kyakhya museum of local lore of academician V.A. Obruchev and the Buryat Scientific Center. The  exhibition is scheduled until the end of 2019, it may be extended to 2020.
