Abstract
The article presents the results of research of several paintings by European artists from the collection of the V.P. Sukachev Irkutsk Regional Art Museum and the introduction them into scientific use. The study evaluates the authenticity, creation time, and authorship of paintings, as well as different types of copies, by examining paintings from the 19th century, unknown masters from the 17th century, and copies. The study uses available methods of attribution, including stylistic analysis, documentary evidence, composition peculiarities, colour, pictorial manner, style of the epoch, signatures, and inscriptions. The obtained data will determine the artistic value of the works, their affiliation with European national schools, and their significance for the museum's European collection.
